Sheffield dance-punks Life Aquatic Band have shared their new single 'Summer Rain'. The track, which decides to eschew guitars in favour of synths and warped production, is an example of their transition toward more dancefloor-ready music. The energy of their live show has been distilled down into this no wave / electro-clash track, with influences from Fat Dog and LCD Soundsystem finding their way in. The track took on a new lease of life under direction from producer Shuta Shinoda: “Shuta really helped us make this sound concise - we’d never worked with a producer before, and having his input to pull the tracks together really helped. The fact it was recorded to tape also makes up for a lot of the sound, and pulls together the acoustic/live instruments with the synths.” Life Aquatic Band are dropping their new EP, Stuck In The Mud, on February 20th, 2025. -Dan Peeke
